Winston De La Haye

Winston De La Haye, M.D., M.P.H., D.M., I.C.A.P. | Chairman

Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at UWI, Mona, former Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, and Consultant Addiction and General Psychiatrist at the University Hospital of the West Indies. Completed his MD at the University of Pecs in Hungary, his postgraduate degree in Psychiatry at UWI, and his Masters in Public Health and Fulbright Fellowship in Substance Abuse at Johns Hopkins University.

Established the Medicinal Cannabis Unit in Jamaica's Ministry of Health in 2017, supervising the registration of 82 medicinal cannabis products. Medical Director of the Aion International Psychedelic Psychiatry Centre in Jamaica. A former Captain in the Jamaica Defense Force, and a Founding Member and Chairman of the Caribbean Psychedelics Association.

Tamika Haynes-Robinson

Dr. Tamika Haynes-Robinson | Chairwoman

Neuropsychologist specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke and Epilepsy. Completed an accelerated MSc in cognitive science at the University of Birmingham, England, researching movement disorders on behalf of NASA at the Human Movement and Balance Unit in Queen Square, London. Completed two post-doctoral fellowships in Neuropsychology at Emory University and Yale University.

Currently conducting studies on the effects of psilocybin-assisted group psychotherapy for major depression, anxiety, and PTSD with Psyence. Conducts neuropsychology clinics in Jamaica, Belize, and the USA, and is an internationally renowned expert witness in mental health in Canada, the USA, and England.

Justin Townsend

Justin Townsend | Chairman, Retreats & Clinics Committee

Advisor to start-ups, most recently in the health care space, bringing a blend of business acumen, leadership skills, and a focus on emerging health models to the MycoMeditations team, where he serves as CEO. Has spent 20 years exploring transpersonal and Jungian depth psychology, psychedelic modes of healing, and meditation and breath work techniques, which he has taught in Germany.

Under his leadership, MycoMeditations has brought psilocybin-assisted therapy to more than 1,300 retreat participants.

Amza Ali

Dr. Amza Ali | Chairman, Science Committee

Trained in Medicine at the University of the West Indies, Mona, with post-graduate training in Internal Medicine (DM). Awarded a British Commonwealth Scholarship and trained in Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. Member (MRCP, 1990) and Fellow (FRCP, 2003) of the Royal College of Physicians, London, and board certified in Advanced Central Clinical Neurophysiology (ABCN).

Launched the Jamaican League Against Epilepsy in 2001, later expanded into the Epilepsy Society of the Caribbean. Recipient of multiple international awards for his work in neurology and epilepsy advocacy across the Caribbean region.

Lorenzo Gordon

Dr. Lorenzo Gordon

Diabetologist, Consultant in Internal Medicine, and Biochemist. Current Dean and Medical Director of the Caribbean School of Medical Sciences, Jamaica, and lecturer at the University of the West Indies. Holds a PhD in Biochemistry from UWI and a medical degree from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba.

Clinical Research Specialist focused on cannabis- and psilocybin-related product research and development. Serves on Jamaica's Medicinal Cannabis Unit Advisory Board Committee and advises the Ministry of Health on psilocybin mushroom regulation.

Douglas Gordon

Douglas Gordon | Chairman, Membership Committee

Nearly 30 years of experience spanning finance, media, sales, and marketing, beginning his career in commercial banking with Bank of America. Founded CanEx Jamaica in 2016, the premier Cannabis Business Conference & Expo in the Caribbean, and has spoken at industry events across Jamaica, Toronto, Washington DC, Mexico City, Trinidad & Tobago, and Medellín, Colombia.

Serves as Chairman of Zimmer & Co., a medicinal cannabis and hemp-based CBD health and wellness distribution business, since its founding in 2017.

Director of Development at the Jamaica Cancer Care & Research Institute (JACCRI), focused on generating awareness and resources in support of JACCRI's mission. Founder and CEO of Jamaica Ingredients & Extracts, a CBD and natural product producer, and co-founder and director of Hypha Wellness Jamaica.

Dingle Spence

Dingle Spence, BSc., MBBS, Dip. Pall. Med, FRCR

Jamaican physician trained in both Clinical Oncology and Palliative Medicine. Senior Medical Officer of the Hope Institute Hospital, Jamaica's only dedicated oncology and palliative care unit, and Associate Lecturer at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Co-founder and co-director of the Jamaica Cancer Care and Research Institute (JACCRI).

Board member of the International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care, with research interests in the use of plant-based medicines, including cannabinoids and psychedelics, for holistic symptom relief in palliative care.
